Singapore, 28 December 2020 – Despite the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, Nexia TS remains committed to helping the vulnerable communities in the annual Boys’ Brigade Share-A-Gift (BBSG) Project. A corporate giving programme that the firm has been supporting since 2008.
This year, the firm returns with a strong count of staff volunteers to deliver supermarket vouchers instead of the usual food hampers to some underprivileged beneficiaries in the heartlands. The deliveries were conducted over two days to observe workplace safe-management measures and the well-being of our people while being part of this meaningful cause.
In addition to spreading joy in our own ways. the firm matched dollar-to-dollar cash donations made by staff and partners to fulfil specific wishes for BBSG-beneficiaries – in the hope to improve their daily lives during this pandemic.
The charity has been hard hit by Covid-19 with significant dip in donations. Group CEO & Chief Innovation Officer who is also the Chairman of Boys’ Brigade, Henry Tan, explained, “In the past, we used to have the Boys’ Brigade standing outside major supermarkets to collect food donations from the public however the Covid-situation is making it difficult for the boys to collect the targeted amount of food donations without the personal touch. Therefore, I urge all of us, corporates or individuals alike, to stand together and do what we can to continue giving cheer to the less fortunate.”
