While data protection is an essential mitigation tool, blockchain technology on the other hand, is built with the intent of transparency and openness – creating an immutable record of trade flow. The digital ledger that keeps continuous records of every transactions that enables unique users to transact digitally without an intermediary along the entire supply chain. The nature of this technology no longer requires centralised data storage therefore minimising the risk of cyberattacks, which at the same time, greatly increases the security level of this technology system.
Nonetheless from a data protection perspective, it is important to be able to identify the potential conflicts and yet stay compliant with data protection laws when implementing blockchain. It comes down to key considerations and the available options to ensure the technical aspects of blockchain system meets the requirements as set out by the applicable laws.
Against this background, the seminar provides insights on regulatory framework on data protection, blockchain technology and available funding for companies to develop blockchain platform to connect stakeholders with a peace of mind.
This seminar is jointly brought to you by Nexia TS and our Blockchain Collaboration partner, JedTrade and supported by Singapore Fintech Association.
